CAMP IN JULY

Join us for summer fun this July! In 2024, Chickpeas will offer summer camp for four weeks, from July 8th - August 2nd.

Camp includes daily sprinkler play in our backyard, trips to Prospect Park, and all day field trips to places like the Transit Museum, Coney Island, Puppetworks/JJ Byrne Playground, and more! Currently enrolled students will receive first priority in our camp admissions -  though alumni (up to 5 years old), incoming 3K students, and any other interested families are encouraged to register.

ZERO TUITION!

Beginning with the 2022-23 school year, Chickpeas will offer free full day 3-K and Pre-K, through a contract with the NYC Department of Education. The DOE age cut off for eligibility is December 31st. This means your child may start 3K in September at 2 years old, as long as they are turning 3 by December 31st. For PreK, they may start at 3, but must be turning 4 by December. All 3-K and Pre-K students must attend school 5 days per week. Chickpeas charges no tuition or fees for 3-K and Pre-K students during the DOE-funded school day, but additional fees apply for our Early Bird, After School and non-DOE day care.

The DOE school day runs from 9 am - 3:20 pm.

EARLY BIRD CARE

 

To better serve our families, chickpeas offers Early Bird care before the scheduled DOE day begins. Early Bird care is offered from 8-8:45am, Monday through Friday. The 2024-2025 rate is $12/day. Families can sign up for three, four, or five days per week. There are three registration periods each year. More registration information will be provided upon enrollment to Chickpeas.

AFTER-SCHOOL

​

Chickpeas also offers After School care after the DOE scheduled day ends at 3:20. After School is offered from 3:30-6:00pm, Monday through Friday. The 2024-2025 rate is $30/day. Like Early Bird care, families can sign up for three, four, or five days per week and there are three registration periods each year. More registration information will be provided upon enrollment to Chickpeas.

NON-DOE DAYS 

​

To better serve the families in our community, Chickpeas remains open 8:00am-6:00pm for an addition 10-12 days between September to June. We refer to these days as our non-DOE Days, and families may choose to send their child to as few or as many of them as they wish for an additional fee. The rate for the 2024-2025 school year is $150/day, not including Early Bird and/or After School care.

 

For the 2023-2024 school year, Chickpeas non-DOE Days (fee based) are listed below:

 

1. Monday, September 25th - Yom Kippur

2. Monday, October 9th - Indigenous People's Day 

3. Tuesday, February 20th through Friday, February 23rd - Mid-Winter Break

4. Monday, April 1st - Easter Weekend

5. Wednesday, June 19th - Juneteenth 

6. Thursday, June 27th - Days following the last day of school on the DOE calendar

7. Friday, June 28th - Days following the last day of school on the DOE calendar
