COMMUNITY EVENTS & PARTNERSHIPS
GROWN-UP WORKSHOPS

Chickpeas proudly partners with organizations like the New York Early Childhood Professional Development to plan and provide Grown-up Workshops on topics including "Gender Development, Expression and Play","Bodies, Curiosity and Touching", and “Gender, Sexuality and the Family”. Workshops are open to the public with a suggested donation / sliding scale. We also partner with organizations such as The Center for Racial Justice in Education and Little Chairs to provide workshops for staff and teachers on how to talk about race with young children.

BISHOP BOARDMAN APARTMENTS *ON HOLD DUE TO COVID

Chickpeas proudly partners with Bishop Boardman Apartments, a low income housing apartment subsidized by the federal government's HUD (Housing and Urban Development Division) for the elderly. The school plans and takes field trips to have special music classes with our “older neighbors”.

GREENLIGHT BOOKSTORE BOOK FAIRS

Chickpeas proudly partners with Greenlight Bookstore to plan and provide a book fair to benefit Chickpeas. Greenlight Bookstore curates a mix of children’s and adult books in theme groups like family diversity, indigenous cultures, Black History Month, Women's History Month, etc. Proceeds return to Chickpeas as a store credit to buy books for the school.
